Access for All - 2009

Since management agreements have made it possible to actively improve Ridge Wood, many improvements to entrances and surfaces have been made, including information panels and better signage and a RADAR scheme for wheelchair users.
Local schools have been involved in a project to capture and record the distinct character of the Wood.


June 2004

The completion of the first part of the project to improve access, conservation, signage, education and information at Ridge Wood was marked with a launch in June 2004. It is easy to forget how the huge stones that form mounts for the information panels got to site to mark the occasion. They came from Barnhill Quarry and were moved there by Hansons. These pictures show the process:
